Concrete visual learner…

Harking back to the days when RoseBud was first learning to read, I came across this memory: Concrete thinking in everyday life… RoseBud’s first words (that she learned at the same time) were car and see. She would get so confused. Why? Because Car starts with a C so she would say that the word “C-A-R” was the word ‘see’. Then she would read the word “a” and go on to read the word “yellow” but she would say “A Y” instead of “A YELLOW” thinking that she was trying to read the initial letter of each word. She’s over those hurdles now. She LOVES to read!
